Shape a carrier before chasing the firefly

Build a scoop or cradle that can receive the firefly, then plan how to bring it to the hanging lantern. Keep the supporting surface beneath the light and move deliberately. Chasing it with an unprepared edge gives you little control over where it goes next.

The first Firefly Flicker board presents the light and a suspended lantern across an open area. Firefly Flicker 2 adds a release step and obstacles between the light and its destination. Separate obtaining the firefly from delivering it.

Before moving, make sure you have a carrier and a partner ready to support the next step.

Prepare the scoop and receiving position

Choose who carries the light first. Have that player hold still while the partner shapes a receiving recess. Inspect the opening and rotate it upward before trying to catch anything.

A scoop works only when its orientation supports the object. Rotating the character changes that surface too. Avoid a large turn while the light rests near an open edge.

  1. Find the lantern and compare its height with your carrier.
  2. Choose an accessible place to receive the firefly.
  3. Shape and orient the carrier.
  4. Position the partner for support or a handoff.
  5. Bring the light onto the receiving surface.
  6. Inspect its position before moving toward the destination.

Use those steps as a strategy for the current geometry. They are not a fixed sequence of cut coordinates.

Approach the first lantern

Standing on the floor beneath the hanging lantern is not enough. Prepare a way to bring the carrier and light up to its opening.

Position your partner for a lift or a receiving surface at the next useful height. Move one character at a time during setup. The receiver should be ready before the carrier changes its angle.

During the final approach, watch the opening and the firefly together. If you are close but the board has not completed, inspect the light’s placement before reshaping both characters. A correct carrying shape can still need a position adjustment.

Free the light in Firefly Flicker 2

The second board asks you to free the firefly before carrying it to the lantern. Its obstacles and separated heights require a different route from the open first layout.

Identify where the released light will be accessible, then prepare the carrier there. Follow its actual position after release instead of returning automatically to where it started.

Check that the full carrying shape can pass along the route. A recess that holds the light can still be awkward to move through a blocked section. Prepare the next receiving position before starting a difficult transfer.

Correct the visible failure

ProblemFirst correction
Light moves away before you receive itPrepare the scoop before releasing or approaching
Firefly rests near an open edgeReposition beneath it and reduce unnecessary rotation
Carrier reaches an obstacleInspect the route and prepare the next handoff
Destination is close but completion stallsCheck the lantern opening and the light’s placement
Scoop has lost its supporting edgeReform that character and rebuild its receiving shape

Do not change everything after a slip. Check whether the failure came from the shape, its orientation or the transfer. Preserving one working part gives the next attempt a useful starting point.

The first board starts at 01:37, and the second at 10:57. For a different carrying layout, try Alley Oop.

FAQ

What is the Firefly Flicker goal?

Bring the firefly to the hanging lantern. The second layout first asks you to free it.

Why shape a scoop?

A recess supplies a receiving surface for the light. Check its orientation before moving or handing off.

Should I rotate while carrying the firefly?

Turn when the route needs it and watch the light. Rotation changes the supporting surface as well as the character’s direction.

Can I repeat the first route in Firefly Flicker 2?

Use the current board’s geometry. The second layout adds a release step and obstacles along the way.

Why does standing below the lantern not finish the puzzle?

The firefly needs to reach the destination. Inspect its position relative to the opening rather than only your character’s position.
