Stop moving before you press cut
Use Q or E to rotate, R to reshape, left mouse button to snip, and Shift to slow movement. Those are the PC bindings listed by the game’s official Roblox description. Before cutting, make your partner hold still and check the overlap between your bodies.
A correct input at the wrong position still removes the wrong piece. Move into place, rotate to the angle you need, then cut. Pressing the buttons together while both players drift makes the result harder to control.
This PC control reference is dated 27 September 2026. If the live HUD changes, follow the labels displayed by your current game session.
PC input reference
| Input | Action | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Q / E | Rotate | Turn the cutting edge or supporting surface before testing the overlap |
| R | Reshape / reform | Restore your starting body when a cut has removed useful material |
| Left mouse button, M1 | Snip / cut | Apply a deliberate cut after both characters are positioned |
| Shift | Slow movement | Make smaller position adjustments near a target or partner |
| Space | Jump, shown in the PC HUD | Reach or reposition above the floor where the board requires it |
| Right mouse button | Reform, shown in the PC HUD | Check the HUD for this alternative to the officially listed R binding |
The official description lists Q/E, R, M1 and Shift. The PC interface also shows Space and right-click. Check your own HUD before relying on those secondary bindings, especially if you switch device or input mode.
Rotate before reshaping
Rotation changes your orientation. Reforming changes the body’s geometry back to a starting shape. Do not confuse the two when a nearly finished outline refuses to fit.
If your piece still has the necessary edges, first turn it and reposition it. Cutting again is useful only when the geometry itself needs changing. Reform when too much material is missing or the next task requires a different tool.
A scoop facing down cannot support a ball the same way it does facing up. A pointed edge facing away from a balloon will not help just because the character has the right general shape. Check where the useful edge faces before pressing the action button.
Build a repeatable cutting sequence
- Tell your partner which character receives the cut.
- Keep that receiver still while the cutter approaches.
- Rotate until the intended boundary lines up.
- Use slow movement for the final position correction.
- Make one cut, then separate to inspect the result.
- Test the new shape on the board objective.
This sequence gives you a clear failure check. If the missing piece is too large, inspect the overlap before repeating. If the shape is right but the target gauge remains low, inspect position and orientation. Do not reform a workable piece just because its first placement missed.
Reform is also not a selective last-action undo. Expect to rebuild the shape you need after restoring your body.
Touch buttons and other input modes
On a touch interface, use the labels on your device’s movement and action buttons to identify cut, rotate and reform. Do not assume a touch button matches a keyboard key because of its position: screen arrangement can differ.
For console, controller or other input devices, read the live prompts before a precision attempt rather than treating this PC table as their control map. Keep the receiver still, align the cutter, make the cut and inspect the result.
For the complete puzzle loop, continue with the beginner guide. For a task that rewards alignment before cutting, open Shape Match.
FAQ
What button cuts on PC?
The official description lists M1, the left mouse button, for snipping. Position both characters before pressing it.
How do you rotate your character?
Use Q and E on PC. Inspect the resulting orientation before making a cut or carrying an object.
What does R do?
R reshapes or reforms your character. Use it when you need to rebuild the body’s geometry.
Why use Shift during a puzzle?
Shift slows movement, which helps you make a small final alignment without overshooting the intended overlap.
Can I use these keyboard bindings on mobile?
Use the live touch-button labels on mobile. Keyboard bindings describe PC input and do not establish a universal touch or controller layout.
