Make a useful point before approaching the balloons
Cut a pointed tip into a character, rotate it toward the next balloon and bring that tip into contact. Keep point creation and reaching the target as separate jobs: a good tool still needs the right position.
The Balloon Burster instruction asks for pointed tips. One layout has a 0/3 counter and balloons at different heights. Use your current board’s counter to track progress; other balloon puzzles need not contain three.
Before your first attempt, check that the tip is exposed and choose a balloon you can reach.
Cut for an exposed tip
Choose which character becomes the popping tool. Have that receiver stay still while the partner shapes its edge. Plan the cuts so two boundaries meet at an exposed point, then separate the characters to inspect the result.
A body that is merely smaller is not necessarily pointed. Look at the actual contact edge. If it remains broad or rounded, another deliberate shaping cut is more useful than repeatedly jumping at the balloon.
Preserve enough of the body to position it comfortably. Removing large amounts everywhere makes the tool harder to handle without giving it a sharper tip.
Match orientation to the next target
Rotate until the point faces the balloon you intend to touch. Check the target’s height and the nearby platform or support before moving.
In the first layout, two balloons sit higher than the central one. Start with a reachable target to test the tip before arranging a more difficult approach. Check your own layout and choose by reach rather than colour or a memorized order.
- Shape the popping character while it holds still.
- Inspect the exposed tip.
- Rotate toward a reachable balloon.
- Prepare the partner’s supporting position if needed.
- Approach with the point, then check the counter.
- Keep the working tip while planning the next target.
If the counter advances, preserve that shape while adjusting position. Reforming after every balloon discards a tool you have already tested.
Separate a shape problem from a reach problem

Use slow movement for alignment near a target. For a high approach, stabilize the partner or platform position before attempting contact. Moving both players while rotating the tool makes it harder to see which edge reaches the balloon.
If the tip is damaged or no longer useful, reform and rebuild that character. If the point works but misses the target, correct reach and orientation first.
Recheck the rules on other balloon boards
The later Pop Procession layout includes purple covers as well as balloons. Clearing a cover and making a popping point are different tasks. Do not assume the first board’s open approach works through an obstruction.

What shape do I need for Balloon Burster?
Make an exposed pointed tip and orient it toward the balloon. Making a rounded body smaller does not automatically give you a sharp point.
How many balloons must I pop?
Follow your current counter. The three-balloon Balloon Burster layout is one arrangement; other layouts need not use that total.
Why does jumping into a balloon fail?
Inspect the contacting edge and its orientation. Reaching the balloon with a broad side is different from touching it with the intended tip.
Should I reform after popping one balloon?
Keep a working tip and adjust the route to the next target. Reform when the shape itself needs rebuilding.
